Project Overview:
A new bridge is being developed over the Kwinana Freeway to ease daily congestion and improve access.
Currently, the congestion at the Kwinana Freeway, Armadale Road and Beeliar Drive interchange is the 5th worse in Perth. By conducting several modifications, the MainRoads project will separate heavy regional traffic from local road users, create a direct link between Armadale and North Lake roads, support nearby residential and commercial expansions and improve overall access to Kwinana Freeway.
Project Upgrades:
- Construction of a new bridge over Kwinana Freeway that will connect Armadale Road and North Lake Road.
- Reconfiguring local roads with 2 new roundabouts to maintain connectivity.
- Upgrading Armadale Road from Tapper Road to Kwinana Freeway.
- Creating new north-facing on + off ramps at Kwinana Freeway.
- Conducting modifications to existing North Lake Road and Midgegooroo Avenue signalised intersection.
Commencement:
Late 2019.
Expected Completion:
Late 2021.
