There are many instances where a project can go wrong due to the internal or external environments; and that is why, at Highways Traffic, safety is our number one priority. We take the safety of all our traffic control personnel, construction workers and pedestrians as the highest priority in all our highway, roadside and event management projects.
We invest in proper safety equipment such as a Truck Mounted Attenuator to prevent major accidents on a worksite for possible road collisions. Our Truck Mounted Attenuator Hires (TMA) improves the safety of Perth & West Australian road workers by providing physical protection when road closures or temporary safety barriers are not practical options. The TMA also protects the occupants of errant vehicles by attenuating an impact that otherwise would collide with a traffic works vehicle.
Our Truck Mounted Attenuator hire vehicle complies with the Australian Standard AS1742.3 ‘Traffic control for works on roads’ and meets with all mandatory and optional testing requirements as described in the National Guidelines for the use of Truck and Trailer Mounted Attenuators. The vehicle is equipped with the necessary safety apparatus such as safety lights, reflectors and GPS. Our TMAs also have an impact attenuator and crash impact braking system (ABS) and multi-cameras and video recording systems to document all happenings, especially during traffic accident investigations.
Over the last decade, the utilisation of Truck Mounted Attenuators in road construction and maintenance alongside traffic control sectors has risen steadily. Today, a TMA is a regular component to ensuring the safety of individuals working on roads and those nearby the sites.
As one of Western Australia’s top traffic management and control service providers, Highways Traffic is continually delivering leading TMA solutions, including Truck Mounted Attenuator Hire for all public, private, government and utility highways and roadside construction and maintenance projects. A: Not all traffic projects need a Truck Mounted Attenuator. Only those directly working on the road or at a certain distance from the road will need a Truck Mounted Attenuator to protect the site, workers, equipment and nearby pedestrians. However, a Truck Mounted Attenuator can also serve as an additional safety measure even if you are not directly working on the road.
A: A Truck Mounted Attenuator is usually used as a safety precaution for roadside work. You will need to get approval from the local council to use this in a road project. A Traffic Management Plan—including all necessary equipment such as a Truck Mounted Attenuator—needs to be submitted to the council for assessment and approval.
A: We have our own personnel specifically licensed to drive and manage the equipment. However, if you have your own team with the necessary licenses and the experience to drive heavy equipment, please let us know to make the necessary arrangements.
A: We’ve been involved in many highway traffic projects within Perth and across the region including road construction and upgrades such as the Karel Avenue Upgrade and the Warmun Community Road Reconstruction & Flood Repairs.
