Stirling Highway to Carrington Street

Project Overview:

An upgrade to High Street in Fremantle to boost road safety, freight efficiency and traffic flow.

With a high crash rate along the 1.5km route and present safety risks for pedestrians and road users, the High Street upgrade will endeavour to address congestion issues and general flow for travellers. 

Project Inclusions:

• Add a new roundabout at the intersection of High Street and Stirling Highway.
• Create a wide median on High Street to separate traffic lanes alongside preserving a selection (72%) of large trees.
• Construct an underpass at the junction of Forrest Street and Stirling Highway.
• Over 10 established tuart trees will be saved due to strategic design changes.

Commencement:

Early 2020.

Expected Completion:

Mid 2021.
